Cunderdin Solar Farm Launch

The Challenge

GPG Australia, a renewable energy company, engaged GEC to plan the opening ceremony of their new solar and energy storage project in Cunderdin, WA.
The goal was to host 100 guests—including employees, stakeholders, government representatives, and media—for a launch event, site tour, and catering.

The remote location presented significant challenges: limited infrastructure, transport and parking logistics, safety concerns (heat, uneven ground, fire risk), and the need to build event facilities from scratch, including power, water, shelter, catering, and AV.

Our Approach

GEC delivered a full-service event solution, managing every element from logistics to program design.

  • Coordinated guest transport via chartered buses and shuttles.

  • Installed complete site infrastructure: marquees, staging, toilets, AV, shade, power, and connectivity.

  • Implemented detailed safety protocols, inductions, and first aid provisions.

  • Event Photography, videography & production.

  • Managed invitations, RSVPs, VIP hosting, and media coordination.

  • Designed an engaging program including speeches, a solar-powered stage, guided tours of the panels and batteries, and eco-conscious catering.

  • Embedded sustainability into the event by powering infrastructure from the solar farm and using recycled signage.

The Outcome

The launch was a success, with guests welcomed into a well-managed site experience that balanced professionalism with sustainability. Attendees enjoyed guided tours, local catering, and a strong program that highlighted the innovation of the project.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding the seamless transport and hospitality. The event strengthened GPG’s reputation and created powerful publicity, with media and drone coverage amplifying its impact.

GPG’s global head office in Madrid has confirmed GEC will continue to deliver future events in Western Australia.

Araluen Botanic Park - Tulip Festival Management

The Challenge

Araluen Botanic Park, a heritage-listed garden in the Perth Hills, hosts its highly anticipated Tulip Festival each spring, attracting thousands of visitors over several weeks. The client needed an experienced event management partner to coordinate multiple moving parts; market stalls, food trucks, children’s entertainment, live performances, and crowd
flow - while maintaining the park’s natural beauty and ensuring a seamless visitor experience.

 

Key challenges included:

  • Managing large visitor numbers in a venue with limited access roads and parking.

  • Adhering to strict environmental and heritage guidelines to protect the park’s historic gardens.

  • Coordinating diverse vendors and performers across a multi-week schedule.

  • Delivering a memorable, family-friendly experience that showcased the park’s seasonal blooms.

Our Approach

Our team delivered end-to-end event management services, including logistics planning,
vendor coordination, entertainment scheduling, risk assessments, and on-site operational
support. To address the challenges:

  • Traffic and access planning: We implemented a clear bump-in/bump-out schedule for suppliers and created visitor signage to streamline parking and pedestrian flow.

  • Environmental compliance: We worked closely with park staff to ensure all event infrastructure respected heritage areas, using non-invasive installations and sustainable materials.

  • Curated programming: Activities such as Symphony Amongst the Tulips Cabernet & Canvas painting classes, local food trucks, children’s entertainers, and artisan market stalls were selected to complement the festival’s floral theme.

  • Customised communication: Vendor information packs and neighbour notification letters ensured all stakeholders were informed and engaged well ahead of time.

The Outcome

The Tulip Festival was a resounding success, drawing record attendance and overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the client and visitors. The vibrant program, smooth operations, and attention to detail elevated the visitor experience while preserving the park’s natural charm.

Waterfront Wedding

The Challenge

Our clients dreamed of a beautiful riverside wedding in Perth, combining both the ceremony and reception in one location with a relaxed, personal touch. They wanted a BYO catering option to suit their preferences and budget. However, riverside venues with BYO flexibility are limited, and the challenge was to create a space that felt both elegant and functional in an outdoor setting.

Our Approach

We provided full wedding planning and event management, coordinating everything from infrastructure and marquee hire to furniture, lighting, catering, and guest amenities. Leveraging our venue knowledge, we sourced a riverside location that allowed BYO catering and drinks.

 

To bring the vision to life, we set up a marquee, outdoor bar, and tailored catering solutions through trusted third-party providers. The layout was designed to flow seamlessly from the ceremony to the reception, with the Perth city skyline creating a stunning backdrop.

The Outcome

From the bride’s arrival at the riverside ceremony through to the final reception celebrations, the wedding ran smoothly and exactly to plan. Guests enjoyed a unique Perth experience in a spectacular location, with all details managed to perfection. The couple and their families were delighted with the outcome and expressed their gratitude for a stress-free, memorable day.
